Claps to Clicks - NYC Census 2020

“Claps to Clicks” is a social media campaign created to encourage New Yorkers to fill out the census. As the global pandemic unfolded in the middle of our census count, we pivoted many of our media strategies, including our content development, to avoid inappropriate tones in our messaging. Hearing the claps of neighbors outside our windows every day was a warm reminder of the community we were serving. This campaign is intended to capture that sense of community as it celebrates NYC health care workers. My roles in this campaign include concept and copy development, photography, and graphic design.

Campaign messaging:

As NYC recovers from COVID-19, we have been indebted to the incredible efforts of the health care workers supporting our city through this difficult moment. All of us owe an immense debt to them, which is why New Yorkers from across the city have been clapping for health care workers as a way to say thank you. But just as they've stepped up for us, we need to step up for them: by filling out the 2020 Census.

Being counted in the 2020 Census is how we make sure that our health system gets the full federal funding we deserve over the next decade. So let's do our part to give back and help make sure they have the resources they need to continue supporting us for years to come. It's time to turn our claps to clicks and get counted in the 2020 Census today!
